UFOs Over the Pyramids – Ancient Wonders, Otherworldly Visitors
Three mysterious craft arrive above an unmistakably Egyptian landscape on this 1 troy ounce .999 fine silver round. Pyramids and a sphinx provide the setting for a playful meeting between the ancient world and science fiction, inviting collectors to imagine an encounter beyond the history books.
The History Behind the Setting
The great pyramids at Giza were built for the kings Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure during Egypt’s Old Kingdom. These royal monuments belong to a long Egyptian building tradition, and their scale reflects the organization and skill of the people who created them. Quarry marks recorded on stone blocks even preserve names used by work gangs.
Archaeology brings those builders closer to us. At Heit al-Ghurab, southeast of the Giza Plateau, excavators uncovered a settlement associated with workers on the pyramid complexes of Khafre and Menkaure. Houses, storage areas, streets, and administrative spaces reveal the everyday infrastructure behind extraordinary monuments.
A Flight of Imagination
The UFOs add a deliberately fantastical twist to that human achievement. The appeal lies in the contrast: solid, enduring stone below and unexplained visitors overhead. Read as science-fiction art, the scene lets the collector enjoy an ancient-astronaut adventure while the real pyramids retain their remarkable Egyptian history.
