UFOs Over Dinosaurs – An Encounter Before Recorded Time
They weren’t watching the skies — until they had to. Dinosaurs, flying reptiles and a formation of saucers share the scene on this 1 troy ounce .999 fine silver round. A blazing object cuts across the sky, adding another question to an already unlikely encounter in Intaglio Mint’s UFO Sightings & Alien Abduction Series.
Prehistory Meets Science Fiction
The real age of dinosaurs belongs to the Mesozoic Era, divided into the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. That immense stretch of geological time ended about 66 million years ago. Fossil bones, teeth and plants preserve glimpses of those vanished environments; this design takes that familiar prehistoric setting in an entirely imaginative direction.
Here, the visitors arrive long before cities, monuments or people. The contrast between powerful animals on the ground and sleek craft overhead gives the scene its playful tension. It is a science-fiction encounter, with the streaking object leaving the viewer to imagine what happens next.
Obverse Design
A large, open-jawed dinosaur dominates the foreground, with smaller dinosaurs behind it and winged prehistoric reptiles above. Several disc-shaped craft hover across the upper field while a fiery trail angles toward the landscape. The layered arrangement leads the eye from the textured ground to the crowded sky.
Reverse Design
The high-relief Intaglio Mint logo rests on a radial burst within a stippled border. The inscriptions read “ONE TROY OUNCE” and “.999 FINE SILVER,” with the year 2023 flanking the design.
