1921 High Relief Peace Dollar Tribute – 1 oz Silver

This high-relief tribute celebrates the design that introduced the Peace dollar in 1921. One troy ounce of .999 fine silver brings Liberty’s radiant crown and the watchful eagle into a compact 30mm format, with an approximate thickness of 5.5mm giving the round its substantial feel.
A New Dollar for a Changed World
Sculptor Anthony de Francisci designed both sides of the original Peace dollar. Introduced in 1921 after the return of the Morgan dollar earlier that year, it marked the peace following World War I with a fresh visual language: a radiant Liberty on one side and an eagle with an olive branch on the other.
The original 1921 design was struck in high relief. That sculptural depth remains central to its appeal, but raised details presented practical challenges for a circulating coin. The U.S. Mint notes that the design rose above the border, leaving its highest elements vulnerable to damage. This modern tribute celebrates the visual character of that first-year design in a silver round made for collecting.
Design Details
Obverse: Liberty faces left beneath a crown of rays. “LIBERTY” arcs above, while “IN GOD WE TRUST” and the date complete the lower portion of the design.
Reverse: An eagle rests on a rock with a branch beside it and rays rising from the lower right. “PEACE” appears below, with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM” above. The tribute’s “ONE TROY OZ.” inscription identifies its silver weight.

The word “PEACE” gives the design an unusually direct message. Paired with the light-filled crown and sunrise imagery, it makes this round a tribute to a specific moment in coinage and to the hope expressed by the original artwork.
