Type IV – CBDC – 1 Troy Oz .999 Fine Silver Round | FIAT DECAY Series

Description:

As the financial system evolves beyond physical currency, a new era of control begins to take shape. Central Bank Digital Currencies promise efficiency and innovation — yet beneath the surface lies a fundamental shift in how money is issued, tracked, and controlled. CBDC is the latest release in the FIAT DECAY Series — a stark allegory of surveillance, authority, and the digitization of value.

Struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver, this round captures the tension between technological advancement and individual autonomy. While digital currencies are presented as progress, they introduce questions surrounding privacy, freedom, and centralized oversight — redefining the relationship between institutions and the public.

Whether seen as inevitable evolution or a step toward total control, CBDC stands as both a work of numismatic art and a powerful reflection on the future of money.

Obverse:

The obverse features a fractured Federal Reserve emblem, its eagle split and deteriorating against a cracked stone wall. Torn fiat currency falls away from the design, symbolizing the fading relevance of physical cash and the weakening foundation of traditional monetary systems. The damage etched into the surface reflects a system in transition — where old structures give way to something far more controlled.

Reverse:

The reverse presents a towering, menacing figure looming over a modern cityscape, its outstretched hands manipulating individuals below like puppets. Above, the inscription “CBDC” dominates the design, reinforcing the theme of centralized digital control. Surveillance elements and looming structures surround the scene, illustrating a world where financial autonomy is replaced by oversight and influence flows from the top down.
