Zombie Zodiacs Taurus – 2 Troy Ounces – 39mm
The Bull returns with a face from the apocalypse.
Broad, curling horns frame a skeletal zombie portrait on this Taurus round from Intaglio Mint’s Zombie Zodiacs series. The familiar astrological sign takes on a macabre personality, with flowing hair, exposed teeth, and a flower above the brow. Struck in 2 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, the round combines a 39mm diameter with a substantial thickness of approximately 6mm.
The Bull in the Night Sky
Taurus has long been pictured as a bull. The Hyades star cluster forms its head, a grouping recognized since antiquity and mentioned by Homer in his description of Achilles’ shield. Bright Aldebaran is traditionally pictured as the Bull’s eye. These celestial associations give the sign a rich visual heritage; the horned zombie on this round is the series’ modern fantasy interpretation.
A Horned Portrait with a Dark Twist
The horns sweep outward and upward, creating a bold silhouette around the central face. Wavy strands and the flower contrast with the skull-like features, balancing ornamental detail against the unsettling subject. Concentric background lines draw attention toward the portrait, with the Taurus glyph above and the name below.
The reverse widens the scene from one sign to the whole zodiac. A zombie Moon and Sun appear with radiating lines, encircled by the twelve astrological symbols. The shared reverse brings continuity to the collection while the horned obverse gives Taurus its own unmistakable character.
