Zombie Zodiacs Scorpio – 1 Troy Ounce – 39mm
A celestial scorpion with a face from a nightmare.
Intaglio Mint’s Zombie Zodiacs Scorpio combines a scorpion’s unmistakable silhouette with a grim, human-like zombie face. Oversized pincers and a segmented tail fill the circular design, turning a familiar zodiac creature into a striking piece of horror imagery. This 39mm round contains 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
A Rival Written Into the Sky
Classical stories connect the celestial scorpion with Orion. In one version, Gaia placed the two opponents at opposite ends of the heavens so they would never fight again. That ancient rivalry provides a fitting background for Scorpio’s threatening appearance, although the human-like face and undead anatomy on this round belong to the modern Zombie Zodiacs interpretation.
Pincers, Bone, and a Curving Sting
The creature’s tail curls high above its head, ending in a hooked stinger. Its segmented body and jointed legs spread across a field of fine concentric lines and small stars. A snarling face emerges between the large pincers, giving the scorpion an unsettling human quality. The Scorpio glyph appears above and “SCORPIO” follows the lower part of the round.
The reverse features the collection’s zombie Moon and Sun, surrounded by radials and the twelve astrological symbols. This common reverse joins Scorpio to the other signs while leaving the obverse free to showcase its distinctive creature.
