Zombie Zodiacs Sagittarius – 2 Troy Ounces – 39mm
The celestial archer takes aim from an undead world.
A skeletal centaur draws its bow across the face of this Sagittarius round from Intaglio Mint’s Zombie Zodiacs series. The raised weapon and energetic horse-like body give the design a sense of motion, while exposed bones turn a familiar zodiac figure into a creature of dark fantasy. The round contains 2 troy ounces of .999 fine silver in a 39mm format.
An Archer With a Long History
Sagittarius has been associated with an archer across several ancient cultures. Mesopotamian traditions linked the constellation with an archer deity, while Greek imagery commonly gave it the form of a centaur: a human torso joined to a horse’s body. This modern interpretation keeps that recognizable outline and adds the decayed anatomy that defines the Zombie Zodiacs collection.
A Bow Drawn Against the Stars
The centaur’s extended arm and curved bow stretch toward the upper edge of the round. Exposed ribs, a skeletal face, and sharply defined limbs give the figure its undead character, while a flowing tail balances the composition. Fine concentric lines and small stars form the background. The Sagittarius glyph sits above the creature and the name follows the lower portion of the design.
On the reverse, the series’ zombie Moon and Sun are framed by radials and the symbols of all twelve astrological signs. The shared reverse ties this individual archer to a complete collection of celestial creatures and portraits.
