Aquarius takes an unsettling form in this installment of Intaglio Mint’s Zombie Zodiacs series. A woman with skeletal features and flowing hair holds a water vessel, preserving the sign’s familiar motif while transforming its bearer into the undead. The round contains 2 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, with a 39mm diameter and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.

A Celestial Tradition of Water

Ancient cultures repeatedly connected Aquarius with water. Babylonian tradition linked it to a great flood, while Greek and Roman stories pictured a figure carrying or pouring water, sometimes identified as Ganymede or Zeus. The constellation also lies near other water-related figures, including Pisces and Capricornus. This round reimagines the Water-Bearer through modern horror artwork rather than depicting one particular ancient myth.

An Undead Water-Bearer

The figure’s swirling hair spreads across the design, framing an exposed jaw and skeletal hands around the vessel. Curving strands contrast with the angular bones, creating a sense of movement within the circular field. The Aquarius glyph sits above the portrait and the sign’s name appears below, surrounded by fine concentric background lines.

The reverse features the series’ zombie Moon and Sun, their radiating lines enclosed by the twelve zodiac symbols. This shared celestial design ties Aquarius to the other signs, while the distinctive vessel and portrait make the Water-Bearer immediately recognizable.
