UFOs First Contact – 1 Troy Ounce Silver Series Finale
Who should greet visitors from another world? For the UFO series finale, the welcoming party is already legendary. Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster make first contact, with a Mothman cameo tucked into the background. This 1 troy ounce .999 fine silver round brings several familiar mysteries together in one playful encounter.
When Legends Meet
The characters arrive from different traditions of unexplained sightings and popular folklore. Nessie is inseparable from Scotland’s Loch Ness, where twentieth-century reports, including George Spicer’s 1933 account, helped sustain fascination with a supposed creature in the water. Mothman’s modern story is tied to Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and reports of a winged figure in November 1966.
The appeal here is the imaginative crossover. Creatures usually cast as the mysterious strangers become the ones experiencing something unfamiliar. Bigfoot and Nessie occupy the foreground of the encounter, while the Mothman appearance rewards a closer look. The finale turns the series’ recurring idea of unexpected visitors into a gathering of legends.
Obverse Design
Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster make first contact in the central scene, with Mothman appearing in the background. The composition draws its humor from recognition: each figure brings a familiar story, and their meeting supplies a new one. It is a fictional celebration of cryptid lore and science-fiction curiosity.
Reverse Design
A high-relief Intaglio Mint logo sits over a radial burst within a stippled border. “ONE TROY OUNCE” and “.999 FINE SILVER” identify the silver content, while “2023” flanks the design. This mint reverse completes the series finale with the same clear bullion identity as its companion issues.
