UFO Over the White House – An Unexpected Visitor

The White House has welcomed visitors from around the world. This round imagines an arrival from much farther away. A UFO above the presidential residence turns a familiar Washington landmark into the setting for a science-fiction encounter, captured in 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver.

A House with a Long History

Irish-born architect James Hoban won the competition to design the President’s House. John Adams became its first presidential occupant on November 1, 1800, beginning the building’s long life as both a residence and a place of government. Its recognizable form has since become a visual shorthand for the American presidency.

The building’s survival was not assured. British forces burned it in August 1814 during the War of 1812, and Hoban returned to oversee its reconstruction. James Monroe moved into the rebuilt house in 1817. The famous exterior therefore carries a story of rebuilding as well as continuity, giving this imagined encounter a setting with a remarkable past of its own.

History Below, Imagination Above

The obverse places a UFO over the White House. The contrast is the heart of the design: a familiar symbol of earthly government confronted by something outside ordinary experience. It is an artistic fantasy, not a claim that the scene records an actual event.

That simple premise leaves the story open. Is the craft arriving for a diplomatic visit, observing the capital, or merely passing through? The round lets the collector supply the answer. Its appeal lies in bringing the grand scale of a science-fiction scenario down to a detailed object that fits in the hand.
