Alien Abduction – Humans – A Day Outdoors Takes a Turn

A lone man enjoying the outdoors becomes the subject of an unexpected encounter. Above him, a UFO projects a tractor-beam-like device toward its target, turning a quiet outing into a scene straight from science fiction. Our Alien Abduction – Humans round captures that sudden change of circumstances in 2 troy ounces of .999 fine silver.

From Reported Sightings to Imagination

UFOs occupied a distinctive place in twentieth-century public life. The U.S. Air Force’s Project Blue Book ran from 1952 to 1969, following earlier investigations under other names. Its surviving records, held by the National Archives, document the effort to investigate reported sightings during an era when unidentified objects in the sky drew intense attention.

A reported unidentified object and a story of alien visitors are different things. This design belongs to the imaginative side of that fascination: a fictional abduction, a mysterious craft, and one very surprised participant. The beam provides a simple visual connection between the ordinary world below and the extraordinary machine overhead.

Design Details

Obverse: A UFO uses a tractor-beam-like device to abduct a lone man outdoors. The contrast between the individual and the craft is the heart of the scene, inviting the viewer to supply the next moment of the story.

Reverse: A large Intaglio Mint logo fills the center, surrounded by a plain border. “TWO TROY OUNCES” and “.999 FINE SILVER” identify the weight and purity, with the year “2023” completing the design. The clear hallmark provides an ordered counterpoint to the encounter on the obverse.
