Vintner’s Mint creates medallions to celebrate “All Things Wine.”   This is the first  release of our series of medallions which will commemorate all of the famous wine growing regions around the world.  This medallion celebrates the world famous AVA (American Viticultural Area) of Alexander Valley, located in the heart of Sonoma County.  Made of 2 troy ounces of .999 Fine Silver, and a very limited mintage of only 5,000 pieces, this medallion is sure to be a collector’s item.

  • Obverse: Exquisite portrait of the first settler, Cyrus Alexander, in the background, the beautiful rolling hills and vineyards of Alexander Valley in the heart of Sonoma County.
  • Reverse: In the outer diameter, the words “SONOMA COUNTY” and “ALEXANDER VALLEY” separated by two 5 point stars, in the inner diameter, the words “GRANTED AVA STATUS IN 1984,” and “2 TROY OZ .999 FINE SILVER,” and “LIMITED MINTAGE” surrounding the center of a relief of Sonoma County with Alexander Valley in textured frosting over a field of engraved “starburst pattern” lines.
