Peace – 1/2 Troy Oz .999 Fine Silver Round
A radiant crown and graceful Liberty profile bring the spirit of a classic silver dollar to a smaller canvas. Our Peace fractional silver round contains one-half troy ounce of .999 fine silver and pairs its historic-inspired portrait with the Intaglio Mint emblem.
A Design Born from the Hope for Peace
The original Peace dollar debuted in 1921, replacing the Morgan dollar. Sculptor Anthony de Francisci created its designs at a moment when the United States was marking peace with Germany after World War I. The coin recognized wartime sacrifice while looking toward a more hopeful future.
Its imagery gave that aspiration a memorable form. Liberty’s radiant crown distinguished the new portrait from the older Morgan design, while the original dollar’s eagle and olive branch reinforced its peaceful theme. The historic series extended to 1935, and the Mint returned to the design in 2021 for its centennial.
This round draws on the portrait’s enduring appeal without reproducing the original dollar as currency. Its half-ounce silver content and Intaglio Mint reverse give the tribute its own identity. It is an opportunity to appreciate the design’s lines and historical associations in a compact bullion format.
Obverse Design
Lady Liberty appears in profile wearing a radiant crown. The sharp rays contrast with the softer contours of her face and hair, creating the balance of strength and grace that makes the Peace-inspired image so recognizable.
Reverse Design
The Intaglio Mint emblem is accompanied by weight and purity information. This private-mint reverse identifies the modern silver round and distinguishes it from the government-issued Peace dollar that inspired the obverse.
