Ballerina Cat – 1 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver Round

The stage belongs to this cat, and the performance is already underway. Ballerina Cat brings a twirl of delight to Intaglio Mint’s silver designs, pairing the grace of dance with the charm of an animal character. One troy ounce of .999 fine silver gives the little performer a lasting place in a collection.

A Feline Turn in the Spotlight

A dancing cat is a playful match for an art built on balance, poise, and carefully controlled movement. The subject turns those qualities into a moment of pure enjoyment: no solemn portrait, just a character caught in the pleasure of performing.

Ballet has a long journey behind that familiar image of the dancer. Its history includes the court entertainments of France and Italy, and Louis XIV’s support helped establish a formal institution for dance in 1661. The Victoria and Albert Museum traces the form from seventeenth-century royal courts through romantic, classical, and contemporary productions.

This round takes a lighthearted approach to that tradition. Rather than illustrating a named ballet or a particular dancer, it lets a cat take the starring role. The result can speak to lovers of dance, animal-themed silver, or simply the kind of design that brings a smile when it comes out of the collection.

Obverse Design

A ballerina cat twirls in delight. The figure’s movement gives the scene its character, suggesting a performance continuing beyond the moment captured in silver.
