Bigfoot Christmas – 1 Troy Ounce Silver Round

A holiday round from Intaglio Mint—and an invitation for an unexpected guest. Bigfoot and Santa share a couch beside a festive hearth, putting one of folklore’s most elusive figures in a wonderfully ordinary Christmas setting. This 1 troy ounce .999 fine silver round trades the wilderness for warmth, company and a cheerful greeting.

A Familiar Holiday with an Unfamiliar Guest

Santa’s recognizable appearance owes much to generations of storytellers and illustrators. Thomas Nast’s Christmas illustrations for Harper’s Weekly, including work published in January 1863, helped shape the modern American image of the gift-bringer. Later drawings placed Santa amid the letters, rooftops and household scenes that became part of his visual world.

Bigfoot Christmas continues the playful tradition of imagining what Santa does beyond the delivery itself. The unusual companion is the surprise: a creature generally associated with fleeting sightings is now comfortably present for a fireside visit. The humor comes from treating the extraordinary as an ordinary moment between friends.

Obverse Design

Bigfoot and Santa sit together on a couch in front of a festive hearth, with “MERRY CHRISTMAS” above. The shared seat brings the two figures into a companionable scene, while the hearth establishes the holiday setting. Instead of a distant silhouette or a hurried glimpse, Bigfoot becomes part of the gathering.

Reverse Design

A high-relief Intaglio Mint logo appears on a radial burst surrounded by a stippled border. “ONE TROY OUNCE” is placed above and “.999 FINE SILVER” below, with a star at either side. Its textured field and clear inscriptions complete the round’s identity as a silver holiday keepsake.
