Zombie Zodiacs puts a post-apocalyptic twist on the familiar astrological signs. This Libra round pairs the sign’s balancing scales with a menacing zombie portrait, turning a symbol of order into a scene of unsettling symmetry. Two troy ounces of .999 fine silver give the 39mm round a substantial feel, with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish that brings out the chains, lettering, and skeletal features.
The Scales, Reimagined
Libra is known as the Scales in both zodiac imagery and the International Astronomical Union’s constellation list. Its place in illustrated sky lore is preserved in works such as Urania’s Mirror, whose Libra constellation card is held by Royal Museums Greenwich. Here, that familiar celestial symbol receives an entirely modern horror treatment.
The scales frame the zombie’s head, with a suspended pan on each side and an ornate beam above. A band covers the eyes, while exposed teeth and deep facial lines give the central portrait its grim character. The Libra glyph at the top and the name below anchor the design to its zodiac inspiration.
A Shared Celestial Reverse
The reverse carries the series’ zombie Moon and Sun, with radiating lines and a surrounding ring of the twelve astrological symbols. This common design connects Libra to the other Zombie Zodiacs rounds, while the obverse gives the Scales their own identity. The hallmark sits at the six o’clock position.
